I am going to dye my hair. I have really, really thick curly brown hair....My hair is also layered. I was going to dye my bottom layer either red, burnt orange, or bright blue. What color would be the best?
I am still in high school and I can't dye my hair durring the school year so I don't want to dye it permentally. What kind of dye should I get. Also what brand?

i have red highlights in my brown hair and it looks great, but it fades faster. make sure you get color treated shampoo it makes it last longer.

To dye your hair any of those colors will require you to bleach it first for the color to show up. So it'll be permanent.
I don't know how dark your hair is now, but you can still use a semi-permanent color like Manic Panic...only it'll give you a dark version of whatever color you pick out - more like highlights. Semi-permanents like those only last a few weeks.

If its not permanent go with Manic Panic it can be found at Sally's beauty supply they have gorgeous colors and they are only semi permanent which means they will only last 2-3 month depending on how often you wash your hair.

That sounds complex and I highly recommend that you don't attempt that at home. You should go get it done at a salon... I tried to dye my own hair a few weeks ago to brown and it came out pure black. I was freaking out.. If you get your hair wrong, you'll be so devestated. It took me 3 weeks of hardcore treatment to get it back to a lighter shade that I like. Just don't take the risk and get it done by a professional! Your hair colour isn't something you should toy with because it might seem like "just hair" but it can seriously affect your self confidence if you ruin it.

Well if you don't want to dye it permanently your most likely going to have to bleach it, which is permanent. But it depends how dark of a brown your hair is, if it's lighter then I would go with the red or orange, because it isn't really possible to get a bright blue on unbleached hair, unless your naturally blond. If your hair is a darker brown then you might be able to semi permanently dye your hair but the colours wont be bright, and you may not achieve the looks you want without going permanent.

you should do it red. And use Redkens shades EQ semi permanent color because it fades over time. Its a professional product tho so you need to get it done at a salon that Carry's it. Good luck. Hope I helped. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.

Its summer time sweetheart! Dye it any color you want, rather its permanent or not! You've got plenty of time to dye it back before school starts back! Have fun! Go crazy with it!
