Neon Red Hair?

So I'm wanting a change. And I've wanted to do this for some time.

I really want to dye the under layers of my hair red. I don't know if that makes sense at all. Like...if you pull it up in a half-ponytail, the ponytail would be my natural color and the botom would be red.

First off: has anybody seen this before? Does it look awful?

How much does it generally cost (I know it varies) to maintain this?

How quickly does it fade?

Is it easy to revert?

you should try it first with wash-out dye to see how it looks. ;)

i personally don't like unnatural looking colors, but it's up to you.
