What is the best way to deal with thick, wavy hair?

I have really thick, wavy hair. It comes down to my mid-back, and it is so thick that I cannot wear it down. I always wear it in a pony tail. I'm thinking about cutting it into graduated layers or letting it grow out long. Which would be the best option? Does anyone have any success stories about graduated layers making thick hair appear thinner?

I'd Get It Cut A Little Shorter, And get Lots of Layers At The Top Of Your Hair So It Looks Thinner At The Bottom But Also Stylish :) It Worked For Me Anyway :) Good Luck

well...i think i would have the same problem ig i didnt thin oout my hair...Just go 2 ur llocal salon and ask them if they can thin it out. They use a really cool blade that just glides on ur hair...and afterwards ur hair wont be as thick! Hope i helped!
