How should I do my hair for my upcoming play?

I'm in a high school production of All Shook Up, a 1950's musical that is done entirely to the music of Elvis.

I have two of characters throughout the show:

1. The town drudge, Henrietta: a bitter, sorrowful, middle-aged woman who is known for being the loneliest woman in the town

2. One of the famed Andrews Sisters

I also may have a character who is a teenager or a young adult for one or two scenes, but I don't know yet.

My hair is thick, blonde/brown, and a little longer than shoulder length. I don't have bangs, and my hair isn't layered.

What should I do for each? We're really working on having all aspects of it look period... so what kind of stuff should I do? A bun? a ponytail? an updo?

Probably a bun or scarf over your head for the bitter middle-aged woman.

A cute ponytail for the 50's teen.

And I was thinking a bouffant wig for the Andrews Sister, with the "flip" at the ends.

you should watch hairspray and you will get plenty of hairstyles related with the 50's and 60's...hope it helps...not really a beautician
