What can I do with my hair?

I am a black female with shoulder length hair cut in layers. In the black community, my hair is labeled as "good", meaning that it's naturally wavy but I have a perm to make it straight. My problem is that I workout 4 or 5 days a week and I sweat profusely in my head. I like low maintenance, soft hairstyles, so I often roller set my hair. I had been using medium to large rollers, and the results are very pretty on the first and second day, after that, I've got to resort to a ponytail or bring out my curling iron. I try to avoid excessive heat with my hair to promote health and growth. I know that I can't be the only black female with this problem. Cutting all of my hair off is not an option. I love my hair and it is one of my best physical attributes. Any other suggestions on styling and/or products for ethnic hair? No weave--I've already got thick hair. No braids--I work in the legal field and try to keep my hair as professional as possible.

What can I do with my hair?

well i have the same kind of hair try putting it up in some nice twists and spiral curls at the top that should work

What can I do with my hair?

i would do some side swept bangs that go across your forehead and a little above your eyes. and so even when you have to put your hair in a ponytail you still have some hair in your face to make it look cute. and you can flip it out at the end too. i think that would be really cute.

What can I do with my hair?

justb be bald

What can I do with my hair?

what the #### do u mean

What can I do with my hair?

Try it in a bun...that's professional :)

What can I do with my hair?

you could again use the curlers or switch it up a little bit. put in a half ponytail for work or you could (i think this would be great) flip you hair out. either use a straightener or use a blowdrier and a round brush to flip the sides out. you could do twisties in your hair everyonce in awhile %26amp;%26amp; if you do twisties then flip out the remaining hair. i really hope this helps!!

Curly Hair Products?

Im thirteen. I have alot of hair, but its pretty fine/thin. and curly. its curly on the top layer of my hair, but its curlier and in perfect ringlets underneith. also, as my hair drys, i have to put on a knit hat to make sure it doesnt dry in a poof. i also have to walk with my hat on outside if there is even the tiniest bit of moisture in the air. and if its cold. otherwise, my somewhat put down hair will get big again. my hair is about an inch and a half past my shoulders, so not much length to weigh it down. if i dont put on my hat at some point when it drys, it will POOF. any recommendations to products? PLEASE. and any suggestions on styling maybe? I want to not have to wear a hat all the time. if any of the time. i want it to LAY DOWN.

Curly Hair Products?

garnier fructis curly and strong;; love your curls!! they have a whole line just for curly hair!!

Curly Hair Products?

I use Down Play by John Frieda. That combined with anti frizz gel really control my hair, but the curl is still nice. My hair is really thick and poofy if I don't use it.

Curly Hair Products?

For Shampoo use Dr.Miracles, and use DooGro or Sunsilk products for after shower.

Curly Hair Products?

I just got my hair high-lighted---The stylist is really great. I, too have naturally curly fine, (BUT LOTS OF) blonde hair---At the Salon--Kelli told me that ANY REDKEN product has the most WAX in it--therefore it helps hold hair down. It's working WELL for me!!!!! Try some wax---inexpensive styling wax:) Get it at Wal-Dart or wherever. You say your hair is NOT COARSE????

See if my advice helps---you didn't describe you hair 100% BUT I hope this helps a bit!!! :)

Curly Hair Products?

well i also use 2 have the same problem as u, but wat i use is Pantene 4 curly hair shampoo, conditioner and gel and hairspray or use Tressme trust me it really works my hair use to be all poofy now its smooth and much better condition.

Curly Hair Products?

**hairstyles--%26gt; ponytails.. down with cute headbands. (sometimes a little puff is pretty, but not TOO much %26amp; frizzy)..use those little clips. idk what theyre called. theyre little and a lot of colors. they like. snap?....some up, some down. straighten it sometimes. the middle one third of your hair pulled back with the little clips and then all down.

**products--%26gt;

design line for curly hair. //salon

catwalk (made for curly hair)//salon

john frieda frizz ease. //drugstore

matrix's curlife//salon

paul mitchells moisturizing shampoo and conditioner//salon

garnier fructis curly hair//drugstore

pantene curly hair//drugstore

**basically, try anything made especially for curly hair or something like moisturizing and hydrating. try to avoid products with drying out alcohols like benzyl. and use things that help control frizz.

Curly Hair Products?

I would suggest curl life shampoo, conditioner, and the spray gel, or the cream...there are 2 different types of cream-for course hair or fine hair...Or you can try any of the curls rock products by catwalk!!! Good luck!!

Curly Hair Products?

If you don't mind spending a bit more, the Be Curly line from Aveda is really great, and the Bumble and Bumble line is good too- especially the curl enhancers for the parts of your hair that aren't as curly as the other parts (this is assuming you WANT the curls and aren't trying to straighten).

I think the key to controllable curls is a good styling cream (that isn't crunchy--nothing is worse than crunchy gelled curls!) and just run it through your hair when it's damp very gently and let air dry, then top it off with an anti-frizz creme when almost dry-- cover your hands and then run your hands over the top of your head and back, as if you were going to put your hair in a ponytail, but gently. Then don't mess with them--the more you touch your hair, the frizzier it will get.

Good luck!

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

I used to have REALLY thick, full, dark hair but this year I've noticed that everytime i run my hand through my hair, about 5-10 hairs come out, and everytime i brush my hair, even more come out. In the shower, I lose about 100 hairs.

I haven't dyed my hair or chemically treated it.

For the past months, however, I used a lot of flat ironing and blow drying. I have split ends as well on teh top layer of my hair.

Could this be why my hair is falling out?

Is there a solution to it???

Please help, I'm only 14 and I don't want to have almost no hair...=(

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

Everyone's hair sheds a bit. Because you've been excessivley using flat iron and blow dryer, that drys out your hair causing weak roots, split ends, and unhealthy hair. But if your really concered about your hair falling out, then try these remedies to prevent hair loss.

Make a drink blending bananas, honey, yougurt, and low fat milk. This drink is rich in biotin and will help your hair have strong roots, to prevent it from falling.

Bend your head while shampooing, and massage your scalp. This will increase the blood circulation to the scalp.

Get Sufficiant sleep. Like a healthy body, healthy hair needs a good sleep.

~Having healthy hair is very important for preventing hair loss.~

So if you have a lot of split ends, get a trim. About once every 3 months is good.

Make sure your hair is hydrated, not dry. Here are some homemade remidies you can try:

Mush 8 strawberries w/ 1 tablespoon of mayonaise. Massage into hair, Put a shower cap over it, then a warm towel, leave in for 1/2 hour. Then wash out.

~This will give your hair a rich gloss, and moisture.~

Instead of rinsing your hair w/ warm water, rinse it w/ cold water, this will close the cuticle in your hair.

~ Gives nice shine, for healthy looking hair~

Do not shampoo your hair everyday. Infact, washing your hair every 2-3 days makes your hair healthy! Because, washing your hair everyday robs the essential oils from your hair, and drys your scalp and hair.

Always condition your hair after shampooing, conditioning softens the cuticle of your hair, which hydrates it and makes it healthy.

Deep condition once a week. (I like using Garnier Fructis 3 min. conditioner)

Apply natural oils to your hair, (Olive oil, Coconut oil, almond oil, etc.) Apply generous amounts of oil to your hair, (Lots on the ends). Put a shower cap over it, and leave overnight, when its morning, wash it out.

~ Gives hair a nice gloss, healthy looking, and very hydrating.~

Don't Brush your hair when its wet. Whenyour hair is wet, it is the weakest, and brushing your hair will damage it.

Avacados are great for your hair! Mix 1 avacado w/ 1 tablespoon of olive oil, rub onto hair, and leave on for 10 min. Then rinse out.

Use a Natural Boar Bristle Brush. It will take your natural oils from your hair and smooth it out to your hair. It also straightens it a bit.

~Giving your hair a natural gloss, and a fresher smooth~

Mix 2 eggs w/ a little bit of milk, beat lightly, massage into hair, leave in for 5 min. then rinse out.

Go out for a nice walk on a sunny day, sunlight has an excelent source of Vitamin D.

~Will give shine and healthy looking hair~

Also, chemicals can damage your hair, like shampoos and conditioners are FILLED with chemicals. So, you only need about a drop size of shampoo if you have short hair, and about a walnut size if you have long. Add water to dilute the shampoo so, it seems like you have more to spread.

Don't use a blow dryer after you wash your hair, let it air dry. And when you dry your hair w/ a towel, don't rub, just blott your hair.

Try to limit your use of flat ironing, because it will damage your hair.

Drink plenty of water, because water hydrates your skin and hair!

Having a good diet is key to having healthy hair. Check this link out. http://beauty.iloveindia.com/hair/health...

~I hope i helped!!~

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

Everyone's hair is like that.

If you have thick hair, it's GOING to be like that.

100 hairs being lost a day, sounds fine.

Nothing is wrong, unless you start pulling out those 100+ hairs out at the same time.

Trust me, my friend has thick hair.

Anyone and everyone who has to mess with it, has told her that.

Her hair normally falls out.

It's natural.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

call me up....we can probably take care of it. No i'm just playing....don't take hot showers and stop using all that hair product crap. Go to a doctor and they'll shoot steroids in your head to stop the problem. I'm serious.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

did you change your shampoo??

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

there are hair strengthening shampoos available in the market like pantene. Over styling your hair may cause it to fall but one reason also that may have contributed in you hair fall is stress.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

We lose hair every day. If I remember right,{In my beauty school days} 100 hairs a day is normal. Sounds scary I know. But your ok. Just keep your hair trimmed and talk with your hair stylist. He or she will give you good tips on keeping your hair healthy. Also, Stress and what you eat can cause hair lost. But I feel your ok.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

your hair is extremely damaged you should see a professional hairstylist. don't be afraid to cut your hair it will only grow back healthier.make sure to always cut split ends for healthy hair and don't using heating appliances to your hair everyday it only makes it brittle and more damaged. if you use heating appliances use a hair serum or cream that will protect against the heat while you straighten your hair.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

If you think it is a problem ,go to the doctor, there are lots of things to look at with regard to hair loss. If it is proved not to be a medical problem the answer is probably the products etc that you use.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

As pp said, most people lose 100 hairs or so per day. I have long hair - thin but a lot of it. I noticed more hair loss a year or so ago. Turns out I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Well, I had many other hypothyroid symptoms as well. I'm 39 though, it would be rare for you to have a thyroid problem at your age, and you would most likely notice weight gain, coldness, fatigue, other problems.

Anyway, I would lay off the heat appliances as much as possible. Try to be as gentle as possible. If you can go somewhere and put your hair up instead of styling it, do that. If you are staying at home don't even shampoo your hair, or at least don't blow dry or style it. If you do dry your hair don't hold the dryer too close and don't run it on dry hair as that will start frying it right away. Use the lowest heat possible. Use a heat protection spray if you can find one that doesn't gunk up your hair. Even if you cut down your heat styling to every other day it will help SO much. Get the split ends cut off as they will only keep splitting up and ruining new healthy hair growing in! Use a deep conditioner once a week or so. I also think sulfate-free shampoos are good (like Burt's Bees) as sulfates can damage hair follicles (although that's a controversial topic). I know it's hard to not style hair. Mine usually looks crappy in the AM and feels funky, and if I don't style with heat it's flatter and blah - but all that's taken a toll on my hair so I am trying to be much gentler on it.

If you can cut down big time on the flat ironing that would help of course - I've heard no matter what brand iron you use they are all pretty harsh on hair.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

loosing 100 strands a day is pretty normal, dont worry about it.

hair falling is mainly caused by stress. r u under any stress lately? if u r try to take care of it coz stress contributes to over 50% of our hair loss

stop worrying about ur hair loss now coz this will add more stress and more hair loss

treat ur hair with deep conditions like hair masks from loreal or oil replacement from pantene 3 times a week

do hot oil treatment once a week using olive oil.

massage ur scalp by using a wide toothed comb to brush through ur hair, press on the scalp slowly but firmly.

i know u'd b scared to comb ur hair coz u r afraid of losing more hair but combing actually hepls coz u stimulate the blood circulation in the scalp which helps to nourish the hair

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

It's normal. I have REALLY thick hair and I lose a lot of hair everyday. It's just part of life.

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

u better start moustorising. and if u dont like moustorizing u better start looking at wig shops. i recomend Neutrogina moustorizer. works really well. should keep your hair on lol. try not to brush it so much. let your hair grow out. let it all grow out. so u dont have the split ends on the top. grow it out so u dont hav layers. its easier to work with anyways. then get a haircut. cut it to shoulder length or so. it will stay thicker. then u can get layers.

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

Try not to worry too much about. I'm the same age as you and the same thing happens to me to. It's because your hair is going through a cycle - it's completly normal, it happens to everyone ;-)

I'm 14 and my hair is falling out!?

Falling of hair is sort of normal. It increases in some particular season. Don't worry about it unless its situation resembles mine. I used to beautiful, long and extremely thick hair. But last winter my hair started to fall so badly that my hair became comparatively much thinner. I guess it was because I didn't take care of it. In your case, I guess, it is because of use of artificial methods in your hair. According to me, use of chemicals %26amp; artificial things are not good for hair. Some tips are :

1. Don't wash your hair daily, atleast if its not too messy.

2. Don't use exccesss of shampoo.

3. Keep them well nourished.

4. Don't experiment with your hair.

5. Don't use chemicals and artificial hair colours etc., atleast if u r not used to it.

Some people say that change of shampoo may affect hair. Its just rubbish. It doesn't harm your hair. Just start taking good care your hair from now %26amp; they will get better soon.

How 2 have tis hair?how?how?which product is good?must my hair b very layered?

Messy hair.anyone?

alot of layers, hairspray, and teasing involved search youtube.com for hair instructional videos! good luck

Messy hair.anyone?

asymetrical layers, lots of hairspray and a good straightner

Messy hair.anyone?

r u serious? okay, well tease ur hair and ur hair will look bigger. to tease ur hair tht pretty much means brushing backwards. it will also look messy. ur hair should be very layered and hair spray will work.

Messy hair.anyone?

gel, hairspray and maybe some large rollers on top to give it some lift. You may also need some hair clips to keep hair in a certain direction. The front also needs to be cut shorter.

Messy hair.anyone?

Tease your hair

Use texturizing spray/cream

Hairspray

Don't use gel...its too heavy

Spray the stuff in and headbang a little and your good to go! =)

Messy hair.anyone?

HONEY! excuse my being so frank, BUT, why would you want this hair? The ratting and teasing thing is a definet NO! What exactly kind of person are you trying to portray, because this looks really harsh, hard, mean, snotty, and so on. NOT good, and I sure hope you don't wear your makeup like that. Kids now days are so afraid to be themselves. Just be yourself.....your beautiful!

Messy hair.anyone?

yes

you need TONS of layers

bring in the pic thats your faveriot and show the stylist how u want it

but make sure it is a good hair salon not somethign cheap like great cuts

then to style it here is a video from youtube

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6g7uipOSOBk

hope i helped 閳?br>Messy hair.anyone?

lots of teasing........... lyers would be a good thing..... hairspray....... straightner......... and a person to show u how to do it.......

Messy hair.anyone?

The best way to do it would be with lots of layers and hairspray. Straighten your hair first for the best effect.

But please, don't do your hair like this, it just screams EMO and you don't really slit your wrists and act all depressed all the time do you?

Messy hair.anyone?

are u sure u want to have this kind of hair? u look pretty with nice hairstyle why do u want to ruin your hair?

Messy hair.anyone?

I guess it would help if youhave volume to your hair to have it stay like that. pantene pro-v can help with that. then after you take a shower, don't comb your hair. scrunchies and clips help to pull this off.

Hair question?

Does anybody have any pictures of long layred hair with long layered bangs too?

Ronnie Radke Hair Cut?

I wanna get my hair cut, and I was thinking something similar to Ronnie Radke from Escape The Fate in their Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche video.

I just don't know what to ask for, so if any can look at the video, and tell me what they think is involved in this hair cut, like layers blah blah blah

The link for the video is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk7XF1b4r...

Ronnie Radke Hair Cut?

Dyed black, side swept thick fringe, shorter layers around the face and longer at the sides. Quite long, but longer at the back and sides. Straightened, but possible a little back combed at the back to get more volume. He used to have the back of the top cut shorter and messed up, can't tell if he has in the video.

Probably help to bring a picture with you. .

Hair (style)problem!!?

i have thick black hair. it's layered but you can't really tell cos it has to be long enough to be up in a pony tail. i dont put my hair down because i dont like it around my neck. can you share some styles of up-do s besides the bun and ponytail? pleasseeeee!! for your info, i've got an oval face and right parting.

Hair (style)problem!!?

my favourite updo of all times is the messy bun( you might even want to use some hair sticks for fun!) and french plaids. try doing it diagonally maybe? you also can consider a french knot. it's pretty classic. hope this helps!

Hair (style)problem!!?

you can try a sideways pony right behind one ear (in ur case the left side would be best against ur right part). there is also this funky style u can try. u take about 2-3inch sections of hair and twistwistwist into a coil which you then bobby pin down try to pin most section to the same centerpoint-it looks great-try it =)

Hair (style)problem!!?

French braid

Hair (style)problem!!?

Ok, Perhaps this Bob Style may help.

Hair (style)problem!!?

gray style is better

Hair bleaching??

okay my hair is brown/black but underneath my bangs and a layer of my hair is like an orangey color from bleaching about 4 or 5 weeks ago i wanna bleach underneath my hair

because i wanna go back to blonde so im only doing little sections at a time so i don't fry my hair

how long will it take for me to get my hole head bleached? my hair is down to my shoulders

Hair bleaching??

if your going to bleach it you might at well just bleach it all at the same time cuz if you do it all at once or bit by bit your hair will probably be exposed to the same amount of bleach either way and be damaged just as much all your doing is prolonging it and leaving time for your roots to grow out.

Hair bleaching??

I don't know how you can fry your hair by dyeing large sections (all the parts you want bleached) at a time. By waiting a month and more, your roots are just going to grow in the area , and you'll have to retouch your roots. Bleach all the hair underneath (excluding the patch you've already done), and follow directions. You can only fry it if you leave it in for too long or overbleach it. The length of time between bleachings has no effect over the health of your hair if you're talking about seperate sections.

Any cute in styles to do with my hair? No cutting.?

i want to know how to do the lil puff just something cute in style i can do with my hair instead of just down. my hair is 5 inches below my shoulder and i have side bangs my hair is also layered. im tird of my plain hair down look so boring. step my step ways? pics ideas my hair is soo plain.

Any cute in styles to do with my hair? No cutting.?

I am a hairdresser and my clients (and me too) use Sophisticates Hair magazine. You can get them from Walmart, the supermarket, and the drug store. They have pictures, tips, and step-by-step at home styles. I hope this helped!

Any cute in styles to do with my hair? No cutting.?

Well, you're right about kicking that boring plain hair out the door.

This season is all about volume! The hair industry has been ahead of the game from the start of the year preparing for the big tresses that everyone's going to be craving.

So, I would suggest a Lolita hairstyle. It's very cute but sophisticated, modern yet classic, and full of volume.

About two inches from your hairline, you'll want to backcomb/tease half inch sections to create volume at the crown of your head. Then, take one inch of the hair that was left at the hairline and smooth that over all of your teased hair and pin it at the back. You can top of the hairstyle by smoothing and loosely curling any remaining tresses at the hairline or the back of your head. And for the big finish, secure a fashionable ribbon around the style.

It's a super simple style! Check out this picture for an idea of what i'm talking about.

I want long hair!?

I want to grow my hair long, which now its about to the top of my chest. The thing is, I have ultra thick hair that's straight that's layered. Can people with thick hair grow their hair and not have layers?

I want long hair!?

sure, but you could always get extensions until your hair grows longer.

I want long hair!?

sure they can!

I want long hair!?

Yes anyone can grow their hair. You Could Buy Extentions?

Dont Moan Just Sit And Wait..

I want long hair!?

I have quite thick hair and no layers. My hair is at the bottom of my back currently. So it'll grow okay

I want long hair!?

sure but you might want to get it thinned out a little bit

I want long hair!?

Sure you can! Why not?! Plus you're very lucky to have thick hair! When you have thin hair, you can't let it grow very much. :)

I want long hair!?

yeah, of corse. Heres a tip, brush your hair a lot to remove the loose hairs which will give your hair more room to grow. Hope this helps.

I want long hair!?

yup. you can wait until your shortest layer is about as long as you wish it all would be then just go to a salon and tell them to cut ur hair the same length as your shortest layer. I did that and it works

I want long hair!?

People w/ thick hair can grow their hair super long without layers, I did it myself. But I did find that it's too straight-edgy and harsh (dunno if that's the right word) without the layers, so I got some layers in and it looked so much better, and softer. It framed the face more, and the length was definitely still there. Good luck!

I want long hair!?

They sure can, I did :) Its taken me about 2 years with regular trimming tho. (You may want to do what I did.. cut all your hair above the length of your shortest layer now, and let it all grow in at the same length... layers have a way of getting split ends and fraying so they make your hair look much shorter than it is due to breakage. It just makes it easier in the long run to bite the bullet now and cut it to the same length.. otherwise you may be growing your hair for years and not notice any difference in length).

I want long hair!?

yea dey can

I want long hair!?

yeah just dont wash ur hair

I want long hair!?

If you will go with my words you must have long hair some day.

a day in a week get tramming of your hair from the barber/hair dresser. And before you are going to sleep every night wash your hairs and then massage it will oil slowly. Good luck.......keep one thing No shampoo......natural things will more effective.

I want long hair!?

well yes and no it depends

how well you take care of it.

you can buy certian shampoo

for this. and there if you go to

a salon or something ask them

if they can use a razor on you.

because this razor cuts hair.

but what you do with it is you just

run it through your hair like a regular

comb and dead pieces come out;;

but it also makes your hair thiner.

and usuallly thinner hair grows longer.

next time you go to the salon or go to

the mall go into a shampoo store and

get a certian type of shampoo to make your

hair thinner;; cause they have shampoo for that

I want long hair!?

Get extentions

I want long hair!?

Yeah it will still look very nice.

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

my hair is straight, layered, and a little longer than shorter length. It's brown and doesn't stay in hairstyles very well since it's sort of slippery since it's so straight. What would you suggest? And how can I make curls last?

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

If you "set" your hair while it's wet, it will stay in the style. Try using velcro curlers, apply them when your hair is wet, and let dry completely before removing them. You will get long-lasting curls without the heat damage or stickyness from hair spray.

And if your hair really falls out of styles like you say, gain a good appriciation for cool hats. Can't go wrong with a killer hat.

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

http://www.short-hair-style.com/

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

I had the same problem use Tresemme curl care. It will keep the curls in your hair without a doubt. Hope that helps you.

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

Cut it shorter then. It'll be much easier to manage.

Hair tips for shorter hair.?

Instead of fancy styles, you could always just add cute accessories like hairbands or clips to it. That would look great, be quick and easy to do, and would stay put for a long time.

How can I control my hair or learn to like my hair.?

Ok my hair is thick and wavy. There are some natural curls underneath too. My hair has long layers in it and come just below my shoulders. I know that i should never have it short because it will go poofy. So im growing it. But i always have the temptation to straighten it so I can have it down. I really can't straighten it anymore otherwise it will go dry. I think I should learn to get used to my natural hair. I would really like to keep it down all the time and not tie it up. So any tips.

How can I control my hair or learn to like my hair.?

my daughters hair is just like yours and she loves her hair now(usted to hate it) but we went to the beauty shop and had it layerd then straightned with a hot iron straightner we bought a good one it was about 75.00 now she does it herself but it helped for the beautition to show her how be sure to go to a beauty supply store and buy shampoo and conditoner that doesnt have achocal(mispelled) in it like so soft thats one brand also a protectent for straighting so you dont damage your hair and be sure to not leave the straightner on your hair too long just slide down hair several times NOT slow ones you dont want to burn your hair just keep going threw your hair and it should be soft and sleek if you want to wear it curley just wash

How can I control my hair or learn to like my hair.?

i have the same problem you do... what i did is first i got a perm so that when i couldnt do anything with my hair, i could wear it curly. then, i started working on my damaged hair. start off by doing the hot oil treatments (they work wonders!). then buy the suave sleek line and use it every night. it will make your hair soft and not so dry at the ends. now i buy straightening repair lotion. you smooth it on your hair before you straighten and it doesnt harm your hair. i do all of that every day except the hot oil. (i did that until my hair was in better shape. now i only do it once a month or so) my hair is straight, shiny, and soft and i can fix it!

How can I control my hair or learn to like my hair.?

what i would do is get the middle section thinned out. keep the lenght on the top layers and keep the actual lenght.then for styling i would straighten the fringe and scrunch in some leave-in conditioner to the rest

How can I control my hair or learn to like my hair.?

I know exactly how you feel! I have extremely curly hair and it frizzes like crazy sometimes, so I have to put so much gel in it since it's so thick. Some days I love my curls, but for the most part I hate them. I still haven't found a way to make my curls look spectacular except to add some hair accessories like a cute headband or something.

I, however, do straighten my hair a lot. So if you do decide to do that, use a moisturizing shampoo everyday. That will help keep your hair from drying out from the straightener. I use tresemme mosturizing shampoo and conditioner and it works really well!

Good luck! And remember people pay a ton of money to get hair like ours!

Hair style!?

well im 13 with long blonde hair..a lil layered i have naturaly straight hair goes up to my chest do u think i should get side bangs?? what kind of cut should i get?

Hair style!?

Yes! Bangs are super cute. Try side-swept bangs! And add a few more long layers =)

Hair style!?

Yeah, side bangs would be really cute, you could also get more layers, a choppy look.

Which hair cut is best for me?(Girl haircut)?

I have a Round Face shape like Natalie Merchant I dont even know that famous person but She has the same face shape like me, I have shoulder length hair and its layered plus its naurally wavey and course. I'm going to outgrow my hair a bit just to get it over my shoulders and easier to do more styles. Curls look great on me and straight hair isnt my thing, I look horrible on me. so please help and suggest some hairstyles or hair cuts that look nice on my face shape

I would say try going to the website:

there you can upload a photo of yourself and "try on" different hair styles. I played with the site the other day and it is pretty easy to use and they have a big variety of of styles to play with. Good luck, and I hope you like your new hair cut!

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

i end up looking really scene/emo girl which i dont want to but it happens when i straighten my hair cause my hair are really layered and i have bangs but they look good on me but i dont like when people say emo and when i dont straighten my hair they end up looking really puffy and i end up feeling ugly what should i do?

im not emo/scene and not even into scene/emo boys or anything related to emo/scene stuff i actually despite them

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

i think you could maybe style it differently, not just straighten your hair, maybe mold (use gel, mousse hair spray) into a different style. Or you could get a different hair cut next time. good luck 閳?br>IF i straighten my hair..?!?

what is emo/scene?ware your hair how you like and skip what everyone else thinks..

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

if you don't act scene/emo, people probably won't think you are scene/emo...it's not just looks it is actions as well.

straighten your hair if you like it better that way.

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

You should straighten the bottom half of your hair and your bangs.

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

well labels really suck so just don't care i know thats had but its what you need to do i dress preppy but i'm not...so its you r personality by what sterotype you are in not the way you wear your hair

IF i straighten my hair..?!?

i am in the same situation as you buy my hair is asian scene, which is good considering the fact that i am asian. what i do is straighten my hair and i then add body to the top layers without making it look like a mullet by using putty (or any other product, just not wax) and giving it volume. if you dont dress emo/scene people wont put you under that genre. the thing is though, that alot of people have scene hair now... its just the new trend.

i would do what makes you feel good and confident and beautiful.

straighten your hair!

What should i do to my hair?

well i have tanned skin. i'm getting a haircut anytime soon: a mullet with added layers.

and im planning to dye my hair for a new look on the holidays =)

so here are some ideas for you to choose on what sounds best:

1. the ends of the bottom layer of my hair dyed/bleach brown and a bit of blonde right at the very tips.

2. the top of my layers dyed chocolate-light brown.

3. all of my hair dyed chocolate macaroon with blonde tips.

4. any other ideas that you may have

i have naturally black hair and i dont want any crazy colours.

just brown, light brown, chocolate brown and blonde for the ends.

help! please and thank you! xoxo

What should i do to my hair?

well deffinitly keep dark hair.. people with tanned shin and dark complexions look great with dark hair. i thik you should like put blonde in your hair like underneath layers like not diretly on the top but kind underneath some layers like i don't know if you have bangs but maybe some under the bangs those looks so but and like alla like toward the frony of your face underneath like top layers like kinda flowing into it not like directly in the hair where you can see the root like underneather other layers so you don't see the root blonde just like i don't know i don't know if u get what im saying lol

http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

i don't mean this hair style at all im just trying to show u what i mean kinda see how the blakc is under neath the blonde layer and it kinda flows

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

I hate my hair so much! First of all it's nappy and textured which is annoying, perms work for only a lil while it grows out and then my hair is wild again, my hair has horrible split ends, it's very weak and brittle from using the flat iron so much and i have the worst hair cut ever seen. my hair is cutted into fake "layers" where my hair looks diagonal from the side and my bangs are too thick and short and disgusting....wtf am i to do?

i need some serious help

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

STOP killing your hair

perms, flat irons, yeesh why not just chop it off now and save it the agony

first of all get a hair cut to deal with your split end (only an inch or 2 should be enough)

second of all dont do anything to your hair for a while... leave it be

if it is curly then let it be curly if something else then leav it that way too your hair might take a while to get uder control but if you keep doing what your doing NOTHING will get better.. only worse

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

sucks for you.

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

whatever you do, please don't get a blond weave! if I see ONE more black chick with blond hair I will completely lose it! (except Beyonce of course...)

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

go to a hair stylist and tell her to fix you. maybe get a straight perm over and over agian. also get smoothing shampoo and straighting moosse. it really will help. hope I helped. goooooood luck

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

Try Infusium 23 for dry damaged hair and use Garnier long and strong. Both make the TOP3 best list! See this source for why. http://www.beautyqa.com/

And don't worry, in the end your hair does not define you as an individual person and your capacity to love and care for others. Your inner beauty shines much more than some split ends! : )

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

You need to take a trip to a reputable salon. Need to get a new style that works with you hair type. You could try using a treatment lotion to enrich your hair to make it healthier. They also have a pretreatment now that can put on before you use you your flat iron to protect your hair from the heat.

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

Try not to get layers again, and let it grow out. The hair coming out of your head will be healthy.

To get rid of the product build up, you can try 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoons shampoo.

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

okay, first off. you should get all those spilt ends cut off because no matter how much you condition them, they'll keep splitting and get nasty. the next part, getting the actual haircut may be a bit tougher. you said you don't like your haircut right now?then DON'T go back to the same person. my advice, if you see someone with the hairstyle you want, ask that person for their hairstylist's number and get it done by him/her. also, be SPECIFIC with what you want and take at least 3 pictures. the hairstylist should be able to give you good advice and whatnot about improving the hair damage cus i mean, thats what they are supposed to know about. (: hehe. okayyy. after your done with all that pizazz, you should be fine. :D goodluckkk!!

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

go to a professional hair stylist[dont worry about the money] and say I need serious help with my hair. Give her your problems and trust me they will do everything they can to make you look gorgeous!

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

First, go to a salon, and get the split ends cut off. Then go home, and wash with shampoo and conditioner. Rinse and wash with vinegar. Make sure you wash all the vinegar off. Try not to blow-dry yr hair. Gel with aloe vera, not gel with aloe vera in it. Aloe vera has healing properties. Dont wash yr hair too much and let yr hair's natural oil come out.

My hair is completely damaged to the max, help!!?

Alot of people damages their own hair by using hair straightener and products like fix sprays and mousse, alot of people also dye their hair, and all of that damages your hair.

What you really have to do is to cut those ends not to much you have to look how much you need to cut. my advice is to find a salon and do it there cause they know how to cut..

You really should stop using any kind of heating products such as straighteners etc.

After that I have something really good for the hair.

I know it sounds weird but any way:

1. Put olive oil in your hair it is natural and moisturizing for both hair and skin, not too much though cause it will drop.

2. Afterward make a ball of your hair and put a plastic bag or something like that over your hair. Leave it for at least 1-2 hours. or If you want you can sleep with it that is the best.

3. When the time is up you wash your hair with shampoo alot of times until you can feel that there is no more oil. Dry it with a towel and just leave it without using anything that may damage your hair more.

Like I said before I know it sounds weird but I have personally done it alot of times and it is very good to the hair.. My relatives has also done it for years.

I hope I helped you with your problem... Good Luck

Any different or great hairstyles for medium hair with layers?

Medium layers are great.

You can't go wrong if you straighten your hair. That's not new, but always pretty.

But curls and waves can be cool too, and they're quick and easy.Try a conditioning cream, or smoothing cream, like Sunsilk, or even Suave (there are many others). Put in in your hair when wet and it really takes away the frizz, so any natural curl or wave you have comes out and you don't have the crunchy or sticky feel that styling products can leave.

Other ideas would be....

Try long side bangs

Pull up hair on sides (leaving the rest down) and secure it with small bobby pins.

What kind of long layers would i ask for if i have curly hair??!?!??!!?

I have naturally loose curly hair, i want to get reallllly long layers but what kind of layers would i ask for? because i know there are kinds that make your hair thicker and i do NOT want them cause my hair would just poof

What kind of long layers would i ask for if i have curly hair??!?!??!!?

A razor cut and ask them to thin it out a Little. just tell them you want long layers and show them were you what your shortest layer to start.

What kind of long layers would i ask for if i have curly hair??!?!??!!?

I wouldn't get layers, I have curly hair with long layers and it poufs!

What kind of long layers would i ask for if i have curly hair??!?!??!!?

the shorter the layer the more curly your hair will be, but just ask for long layers and explain what you want %26amp; more specific about what you dont.

Anyone knows about hair extensions? & hair regrowth?

I had a very bad experience with these and was wondering if anyone had been through something similar in regard to hairloss due to extensions. Mine seems as though it is slowly recovering but I am 20 years old and wonder how long it will truly take to get back to the way that it was. The outer layer of my hair was basically unnaffected (aside from the ends) while the inner layers are now short and rather sparse. I do not have any bald spots. I was wondering if someone went through something similar and how long it tooked for them to notice that their hair was recovering. Did you eventually get your texture back? What did you do in the meantime?

Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?

If your hair is falling out after extensions its probably due to the way they were put in, if they were sewn in the tracks were too tight and if glued it may be an allergic reaction. Whatever the case a gentle shampoo (something for colored hair is the best.) and a weekly cholesterol treatment will work miracles, if you can't find cholesterol mayo is the home remedy. After shampooing your hair apply the cholesterol(or mayo) and put a plastic shower cap over it, let it set for thirty to forty-five minutes then rinse (*if you use mayo you will want to lightly shampoo after as well as before.) Your hair will improve within weeks and you should see length differences within a month. Vitamins do help, but try not to wash your hair every day (this strips your hair of the natural vitamins it is already supplied.) ***Pantene of any kind is not a good idea, it has high alcohol agents which dry out your hair and cause it to break, also stay away from citrus products which do the same thing. Really hope this helps!

Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?

this happened to me too...it will grow back at the normal hair growth rate...my hair was actually thicker when it grew back in...i did decide to cut it short though because of the unevenness of it...

Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?

Hair extensions are terrible if you get cheap european/indian hair. I had them for prom and that was IT! They itch ... are terrible to wash ... and come loose if you brush too hair (mine were sew in). I hair problems for the past four years b/c I dyed it too much. Dying my hair left me with anything but beautiful results. My hair started breaking off, drying up, and getting gum like if I would dye it again. My suggestion to you is to get regular trims every eight weeks. I've been doing it for over six months and I have beautiful healthy hair again. I have almost all of my natural color back too.

You also should do a deep conditioning treatment everyday. Pantene Restoratives will help you out with that. The one I use is designed to repair two years of damage in one month. It really works.

Hope this helps.

Anyone knows about hair extensions? %26amp; hair regrowth?

damaged hair grows slower than healthy hair. hair grows on average of 1 cm a month and faster in the summer or warmer months of the year. you may want to start taking prenatal vitamins to speed your hair growth and make it stronger and fuller.

i never had hair extensions but i burned a part of my hair right off my scalp. yeah........it took 3 months or so to start looking better. but your hair will grow back. dont stress, massage your scalp and wash it with organic shampoo and take your vitamins. you might end up with better hair than before...:)

Hair styles for thin hair?

I have pretty thin hair. It's layered and that helps a lot but I have "widows peaks" which are spaces at like your hairline at either side of your head. I have side bangs and I really like them but they look kinda weird with my hairline. Does anyone think bangs that that are like this http://shopping.beloblog.com/archives/NF... would look good on me?

Hair styles for thin hair?

i think out would look good

Hair styles for thin hair?

it would get a while to get use to but you will look great...but if you have a flatter face then i think thosoe bangs would make your face look evn flatter

Hair styles for thin hair?

Bangs look flattering on everyone..

Hair styles for thin hair?

Definitely, go for it! My best friend has thin hair too with a high hairline and she keeps bangs. Her hair always looks nice. You don't ever see her forehead or her high hair line.

Just be sure not to cut them too short. The bangs in the picture are uneven on the ends which makes them look choppy...Definitely the way to go.

I just did a video on 'how to trim bangs' if you want to trim your own. The link is below.

Hope this helps!

Hair Help Plz!!?

I have long layers in my hair. the first 3 inches at the top of my hair is light brown and it mixes good with my dirty blonde from there to the tips . Is there a good hair cut I could get to keep my hair staight ? I am getting blonde highlights too , so pleas tell me things that will look good with it . ( i do not want to use a straightenr everyday )Pics would help lots! THANKS :)

Hair Help Plz!!?

Well getting a hair cut cant keep your hair straight, but what i would recommend to keep it straight and not have to straighten it everyday is thermal reconditioning, hair straightening and hair relaxing (chemical) these can all be damaging to your hair! So be careful when getting these done!

Hair Help Plz!!?

I have the same thing. You don't need to straiten it everyday. I think blonde highlights would look good! Srry, don't have pics! :(

Hair tips please?

I've recently had my hair quite heavily layered in the style that can be 'messed up', but does anyone know how to do this effectively without it actually looking just a mess? I've tried defining wax but it doesn't do it properly and makes my hair just ending up looking greasy. Thanks =)

Hair tips please?

well try blow drying it in the style u want it to sit then straighten it and flick it out a bit at the ends and try to create a high root lift withe the straighteners once this is all done use hair gum or sticky wax to create individual small pieces of hair messed up rather than just putting it through ur whole hair ***

Hair tips please?

Try Gel..Fructis is a good one to use

Hair tips please?

Try a fine mist of hairspray, then backcomb it a little and ruffle it with your fingers =]

x

Hair tips please?

I've always used bedhead protects and they all seem to work good. Spray or put it in your hair and flip your hair do what you want with it and then when you flip up fix it.

Hair tips please?

panteen or herbal essences products!"D

Hair tips please?

I use this stuff by redken that is like a glue and you use it lightly without leaving a goopy mess. If you go to the salon, they'll be able to tell you the name, sorry I wasn't of more help.

Hair tips please?

well what your need to do when it is dry and straight

get gel or hair serum

put some on your hands

put some on your hair

rub down

then go underneath the hair and flick it up

also use hair spray to hold in place!

you will look great!

hope ive helped

Hair tips please?

I think you sould buy some thing that could make your hair look the way that you would like.

like shapoo.

Hair tips please?

use your fingers rather than a brush when drying your hair, always worked for me when I had that type of style.

Hair tips please?

your just trying to hard with the wax you only need the tiniest amount on the palm of your hand and rub in....

Hair tips please?

herbal essences voluming gel works great.

Why is it that I can only style my hair curly when I have long layers in it?

I have naturally curly hair and I would get out of the shower, put C curl in it, flip my head over and blow-dry w/ a bowl (w/ teeth) diffuser and let the rest air dry. Once my layers grew out....it just fell after 5 minutes. I don't get it

Why is it that I can only style my hair curly when I have long layers in it?

Read some hair styling tips and more on this site to help you with it

Why is it that I can only style my hair curly when I have long layers in it?

because the hair is shorter when layered and not as much weight, easier to hold the curl

Hair Extenstions?

How exactly to hair extenstions go? How long do they last? Are they easy to put it for hair that's layered?

Hair Extenstions?

hair extensions can be put in hair in several ways, including gluing them to your scalp, weaving etc. i personally love my clip in extensions (human hair is best) because you have the option of removing them, and perminant extensions have been known to fcuk your hair up severely afterwards. you can also take clipin ones out and dye them which is handy :) if you do decide to go for more perminant extensions however, i know that they can be put in layered hair and look amazing, but only last for a couple of months and are quite expensive.

1.) I suggest you dye your hair a dark auburn. This color is BEAUTIFUL!!! I have it right now. It is close to medium brown but more sexy.

2.) As of now, short layers are in. Have your layers really short and with some sideswept bangs it'll look HOT! However if you want long layers that is also good. I would always prefer the bangs.

3.) Well get some highlights!

Hair.........?????????????????... need answers!!!!?

Light brown, side swept bangs but girl...you gotta do something other than layers with the rest ur awesome hair!!

Good Luck %26lt;3

Hair.........?????????????????... need answers!!!!?

dye your hair a brown color maybe a medium brown, and do LOTS of LONG layers with cross cut bangs (its when they can cut your bangs so you can wear them on either side of your face. they rock lol ) what ever you plan to do good luck. :^)

Hair.........?????????????????... need answers!!!!?

Your original hair color is a color that most girls would love. So I would keep that. I think you should do long layers with sideswept bangs. That would look great onyour oval face.

Hair.........?????????????????... need answers!!!!?

hmm, what i suggest is that you leave your hair red! not a lot of people have red hair these days! so that's why you stand out from the crowd! which is a good way to look attractive!

Hair.........?????????????????... need answers!!!!?

If your hair is the color in your avatar, it's a nice shade and I suggest you do a Celophane or some kind of glossing to enhance it because it goes beautiful with your skintone.

Another suggestion is getting some chunky highlights that will complement your strawberry blonde tones rather than coloring your whole head.

Remember, that whatever you choose to do, you have to adjust your makeup colors to go with the hair or the new color can wash you out.

Go to a cosmetic counter and have a makeup artist show you a new set of colors when you color your hair.

Hair Straightening Help?

I have really thick hair and my layers start above my ear, so it looks really bad when i dont straighten it. But when i do straighten it, it seems like all these little hairs just stick straight out on all the layers, and i look like a porcupine! I have used countless hair straightening products, including shampoos and conditioners. I cant blow dry my hair, because it seems like each hair inflates when i do, and it is really hard to straighten, or even put into a ponytail. I use a Hot Tools Ceramic Straightener, and i dont know what the problem is. It didnt use to be this hard to manage. Help!

Jessica

Hair Straightening Help?

that used to happen to me! and it sounds like we kind of have the same cut.so some things i changed were to:

*make sure your straightner is really hot before you begin straightening

*keep your head straight while you straighten, and kind of bring the straightner in towards your head .

*once you done straightening if theres still hair sticking up, put some straightening serum or smoothing milk on your hair, and that should make your hair not stick out as much!

*oh, and you could also try spraying hairspray on a toothbrush, and brushing down the little flyaways!

Garnier Fructis smoothing milk works good to keep the hair down

Hair Straightening Help?

try a wet to dry straigtener! it's not a good for your hair but my friend has really frizzy hair and she uses it. it works really well! if strand of hair are flying everywhere get a frizz cream. =]

Hair Straightening Help?

try using a straightning balm on your wet hair then blow dry then when your hair is damp run some hair serum through the length of your hair and continue to blow dry when complete spritz with straightning mist for heat defence and then straighten after all that top off with a bit more serum i do this all the time because i have your problem and it will work

Hair Straightening Help?

ever tried going to salon to straighten ur hair? using Japanese hair straightening, also known as rebonding process?

it really smoothen out the hair and make it straight, permanently. tested n proven. the link below might help to give u more info

Flat Iron Straightening will dry out ur hair in the long run and make it even more "fluffy". its better that u condition ur hair enough to make it softer.

How should I cut my hair ?

I'm Julia (the one on the right). Right now I have bra-strap length hair that is layered, with a side-fringe and medium-length layers.

How should I cut my hair ?

Or should I grow it ?

If so, how ?

I'm not sure of my face-shape ...

What do you think would look good on me ?

How should I cut my hair ?

You have a heart shaped face, try to get it cut

anywhere from a chin length bob w/ side swep bangs

at the shortest or just get anywhere from 3"-3 1/2 " off

Then get a semi-perminet color,and make sure it's

either a shade or two shades lighter or darker.

If that's not enough try and get either high-lights

or lo-lights after you've had that for about a week,

and make sure they'll be for you hair color range.

Glad to help,

Looking for hair pictures? Medium, choppy, with layers?

So right now my hair is around three or four inches below my shoulders, and I want at LEAST an inch taken off. I am looking for a very choppy, shaggy hairstyle with LOTS of layers.

I have bangs too, so if there are bangs in the pictures that would be awesome. Thank you SO much!

Try these websites, they are not direct to what you are looking for, cause i'm too lazy to look, but i'm sure you'll find something.

How can i cut my friend's hair into layers?

Are you crazy?? Don't, DON'T, I repeat DON'T do that!! Why do you think people go to college to cut hair? Tell your friend to go to a salon.

How can i cut my friend's hair into layers?

How can i cut my friend's hair into layers?

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

or do you think it makes the hair look too thin?

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

I can totally relate, I have very thin fine shoulder length hair. Long layers will help give you the volume you are looking for. The trick is to go to a stylist who is good with fine hair, or else you may end up with a scissor happy stylist and end up with a mess. Use shampoo, conditioner, and mouse that is especially formulated for thin fine hair, blow dry your hair upside down for extra volume and hair spray at the "roots" helps. Hair color also adds volume to hair. All and all, long layers will help alot, if done right. Good luck.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

Yes. I'm in the same boat. But i just cut it a little shorter andhad then put layers in. It added volume.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

yes I think so read some more hair styling tips on this site

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

yeah!

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

It is fine if the layers are not cut in too deep, or are around the face, or subtle.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

Layers definately thin out the hair,so if your hair is thin avoid it! blunt cuts with straight lines are best.Use volumizing hair care products and blow dry with your hair flipped upside down with a diffuser to increase volume set with a conditioning styling spray.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

Long layers as they call them do make hair look thicker and may even wavier. BUT if you put your hair up at all, they can cause stick ups, etc. Trust me, mine have been growing out for years. Try volumizing tricks first.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

Have it shoulder length or shorter with layers if you want them. My mom has thin hair, she's wearing it long right now and it stills looks good, but she looks just as good when she had it shoulder length with layers. Very professional and cool.

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

Go with the LAYERS!!!!

Especially with thin and fine hair. You didn't mention if it was curly or straight, so I will assume it is straight. Even with the STRAIGHTEST hair you can get some nice layers(which will give it dimension creating an illusion of fullness). You will however have to "work your hair". Don't use a lot of conditioner and put some light weight mousse in it....key words LIGHTWEIGHT. You can then either blow dry on LOW and gently work the hair(scrunch it) or work it as it air dries. When you get the volume you want or perkiness you can wet your finger tips and pull some bang down or manage your style. WALA - Gorgeous hair....can't you just FEEL how good you'll look.

Layers will do nothing but give you fullness. Should you decide you want to go drastic, you can always go with the HIGH n TIGHT military look.....one wipe with the wash clothe and out the door! You have so many options. Good Luck

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

huh

Do you think it would be ok to have slight layers for fine thin hair that is medium to long hair?

I wouldnt do it .Layers will thin out the hair and you will have more exposed ends, and its more maitanance.I have fine thin long hair too and there is so many times were I would love to do it, but I know not to so I dont

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

I have a head of full, curly, wavy and thick hair, that I normally get straightened every two months. I have been getting my layers reshaped while straight but when it reverts to its curly S pattern, it looks weird and isn't loose or free. Instead, the curl pattern isn't definite and it looks bulky and thick, and I'm sure it's because of the longer layers growing out on top.

Is there anyone with a nice curly hair cut/style/layers and can anyone tell me how I should get it cut to frame my face. My hair is shorter in the front and long in the back (I have V-shaped layers).

Thanks

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

I have V-haped layers too, but the longest part of my hair comes halfway down my back and the shortest comes down to my shoulders. Try out new hairstyles and see what works for you!

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

IDK????????

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

I would have your hair a little bit longer than shoulder length, with 3 layers about every inch. In the front I would have bangs just above your nose. This way you can leave it curly and it will be cute, or you can straighten it and it will be cute. Also try some defrizzers. They can really help.

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

long

What hair cut is best for curly hair?

I think a Buzz Cut would be a big relief to you.

Professional hair stylists ...?

Should a professional hairstylest be able to strip dark brown dyed hair to the regrowth color (blondish/verylight brown) if time and money is not a concern for the client ?

I origanallly wanted to get those neat highlights over the top layer of my hair the way the kids are doing it these days, but NOT so perfectly placed or chunky, but my regrowth is coming in and I don't really want to dye it dark any more and I figured a professional would be able to blend the three somehow (the regrowth, old dark hair, and new light highlights) To make a slow progression that eventually will work its way lighter and lighter "over years" to something more resembleing my natural color. This one hair dresser said it may look strange, and I said well then I should I strip my hair to my regrowth and then maybe do highlights, she said it would never be the same color as the regrowth and said I should just cut it, So is she just not confident in her own skills and I should keep looking or what?

Professional hair stylists ...?

There should be someone who can do that for you. You definitely don't have to cut it, but you definitely have to color it and highlight again. Just seek a different salon that doesn't say they have to cut it.

Professional hair stylists ...?

it will go back 3 level only, otherwise you will need bleach and color closest to your natural color and highlights you should be able to get what ever you want

Are graduated layers a good choice for thick, ways hair??

I have thick, wavy hair, and I'm thinking about getting it cut into graduated layers. Is this a good choice or should I just let it grow long? It is down to my mid-back.

Are graduated layers a good choice for thick, ways hair??

My hair is like yours. Graduated layers will look great if you also get is cut using a razor and/or thinning shears. It'll take pounds off and your hair will be more manageable as well as having an effortless style.

Thick hair? thinning it out?

Ok, I have thick hair. Litterally. I know people here say OH I HAVE MASSIVELY THICK HAIR and they have the thinnest hair of them all. But mine is THICK.

Anyways, Even when I falt Iron my hair for 194909049048 hours, it is still thick looking and poofy.

I've already tried thinning my hair but I didn't say how much I wanted it thinned out.

So, when I ask to get my hair thinned out, can I say how much I want it thinned out? Is it possible to thinned out to the point where it actually is extremely thin? WITHOUT LAYERS.

Oh yea, and don't tell me to get layers please because I already asked my hair stylist about layers and she said they will ADD volume.

Thank youuu.

Thick hair? thinning it out?

Well yeah go to the hairdressers and explain, they will thin it out for you as you oviously know. Just say you want it thinnned so it dosent look or feel thick any more

good luck

x

Thick hair? thinning it out?

get it razor cut. this will take out a bunch of hairs, but still look full if you have really thick hair

Thick hair? thinning it out?

Well if it's that thick, i would advise you get layers.

My hair was quite thick, and i got a hole lot of layers and it looked as flat as a pancake. I think you should take advantage of you thick hair... imagine how good it would look in curls?

Thick hair? thinning it out?

dont get it razored, because although it is feels thinner for a little while, it grows back EVEN THICKER!

so get short choppy layers

Thick hair? thinning it out?

erm i have really thick curly hair... but its probably no as bad as yours... ask them to thin it as much as they possibly can...

Thick hair? thinning it out?

I've heard you can put layers from underneath...

I'm not too sure if this will thin your hair out though.

Like...Have the shorter layers underneath...Unlike the usual way people have it.

Thick hair? thinning it out?

i hav or had very very very thick hair tried everythink from razor cut to layers to growin it really long to pull it down but gave up in end an had it cut short wit side fringe an spikey at back an looks real nice. hope this helps.

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

I have layers around my face and at the bottom of my hair. My hair is about 3 in. past my shoulders. I use Bed Head straightening shampoo, conditioner, and mousse. I straighten my hair every morning and then put the mousse on my hair. And the layers around my face curl in as soon as i put the straightening mousse on. I had a very cheap hair straightener that didn't work well. So, I bought a Conair straightener. And it works very well. But my hair won't stay straight in the back and at the layers. How do I make my hair stay straight? I want to stop using the straightening shampoo, ect. And try the Pantene Always Smooth collection. Does the Pantene collection work? The serum says that it makes your hair resist humidity. And it is very humid right now where I live. Does that serum work?

My Q's:

1.How do I make my hair stay straight?

2.Does the Pantene Always Smooth collection work?

3.Does the Pantene Always smooth serum work?

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

Conair doesn't do much for your hair. get one of the CHI or Paul Mitchell Straightners. Use the Paul Mitchell super skinny line products. They work wonders for me!

P.S. You only really need the shampoo, relaxing balm and serum.

P.S.S. Patene claims to give you shiny hair, and its partly true. The bad part is that the "shine" formula can stick to your hair and cause build up and dandruff. I use Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo once weekly to remove build up of any other brand I use.

P.S.S. If you buy Paul M. from a hairdresser's outlet it's cheaper, and it's still sold by proffessionals.

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

well i guess you could get a better straightener and then just don't put moose in it, it will stay straight without it

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

you shouldn't be putting mousse in your hair AFTER you straighten it. That is adding moisture to straightened hair which results in hair recurling.

Get a different straightening iron as well. Chi makes a good brand or you can research other more affordable brands.

Mousse is not a finishing product. Oils and pomades are and will add shine, but no remove the straight from hair.

Pantene is not a professional product, therefore you cannot expect professional results!

The TIGI Control Freak (the link you showed) is a STYLIING Product... to be used when styling, not a finishing product ... use it before you finish styling.

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

I dont think your supposed to put in any products after you straighten the hair because it turns curly and hard, like you said. I had that happen once or twice. Put in the mousse after you get out of the shower, or just dampen your hair. Blow dry it, then straighten it. Never hurts to try!

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

well dont put the mousse in! (if the hair is curling when you put it on, dont) i also had a conair straightner, but now i have a bedhead one that lights up and i really like it! i used to use the pantene always smooth collection, and at first it worked for me but since i have been using pantene for almost 3 years it stoped taking effect on my hair, so it was useless for me. i havent tried the always smooth serum, but i do have the biosilk and i LOVE it!! you should try it!!!

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

I can't answer about Pantene, but as for keeping it straight in humid weather.... good luck. You should try the serum and see if it will keep your hair straight. The only difference between CHI and Conair is that CHI has a special thing in it that keeps your hair from being damaged.... They both have equal straightening capabilities (or so says my stylist).

Try the serum, and if it doesn't work, ask your stylist for something stronger....

Since i'm a guy, i don't have long hair, but when i straighten my hair in humid weather, i put wax in it to style it and it remains impervious to the humidity all day long (but it takes five shampoos to get out LOL) maybe try that too...?

My hair won't stay straight!!!?

uhh... conair is not a good straightenner first oof all.... lol..... pantene has a collection that is called always straight, i use it and it smells good. its works a little but honestly most shampoos, even the really expenisive kind doenst actually work like WORK great. but my mom has super naturally curly poofy hair, and it makes her hair wavy, as apposed to curly, so yah it kinda works. i dont use the serum. if you want a sleek smooth look try garnier shampoo, or try biosilk silk therapy, that works fabulous!! ** try straightening with a good straightener like chi ghd fhi amika fhi is a fake chi but my friend has one and it workss good...if you want put a little hairspray on, like inner layers and outer layer, but becareful, or your hair will be hard and krisppyy**DONT PUT THE MOUSSE ON!! your supposed to do put the mousse in when your hair is wet after the shower! If you put the mousse in after straightening it, your will re-moisten yyour hair wet asnd it will be like you just got wet by a sprinkler and your hair will curl :/

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i h

XX

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i have?

Honey, if you're only getting your haircut to impress your friends and bf, you shouldn't be getting it cut. However, if you want it cut because it makes you feel good, then go for it. I have thin hair too and it's slightly layered. I'm sure if you could find a good beautician, she could give you suggestions on the best way to cut it. Or you could get highlights or lowlights. It all depends on what you like though! :)

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i have?

actually layers give thin hair some depth and makes it look a little thicker go to a good salon and get recommendations from the stylist i actually have a gay man who does my hair and he is a hair god but there are women who are just as good

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i have?

i actually think that if you get layers it'll look fuller, like Jennie Garth (sorry better example doesn't come to mind) she has really stringy thin hair, but when layered, it adds dimension, try it, is just hair, it grows back and if it doesn't work out just ware it up till it grows.

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i have?

Maybe a couple of hilites make it look fuller , just on top one or two shades lighter than your natural , have it layered , wash it with a bodying shampoo and conditioner that way when you blowdry it the lites will give the illusion of "fuller do" set with a light hair spray and go.

My hair is to thin so my mom says i cant have layers since its to thin so what other style could i have?

at my salon the lady said that layers is a good look for people with thin hair b/c it makes it look fuller!!!
