Poofy Hair... HELP?

I got my hair cut shorter, and layered. its pretty poofy... any ways to flatten it (straightening it doesnt seem to work) i also hv pretty thick hair

Poofy Hair... HELP?

Three steps after it's been washed and combed:

1. Use Biosilk (or a similar anti-frizz/shiny hair product) on your hair. Not too much but enough to get most of it.

2. Blow dry as flat as you can. Don't have the heat on too high and make sure you do it in sections. i.e: pin up most of your hair and do the underside first gradually letting the rest down.

3. Once your hair is COMPLETELY dried iron in with a CERAMIC iron. (again in sections if you have patience) You can then apply more biosilk or another hair creme to keep it flat.

Then go out and show it off!

Try using a product and blow drying after you have washed it.

Try going and getting your hair thinned! it worked with my friend and her head looked like a puff ball!

Poofy Hair... HELP?

try using an anti frizz conditioner. Also, putting a little honey in your hair while your in the shower for a bout 2 mins help eliminate poofyness

well, how do you straighten it? try blow dyring it first (not too excessively tho) and then use a flat iron...that should work out...if it doesnt work out fully...then use mousse or straightening hair spray..theres plenty of products you can buy at the drug store or hair salon

I dont know much but my girlfriend Amber is great with hair. You in luck because Im on the phone with her right now. (she's aswered to many questions today and I told her that I would help you!) Okay ummm...Wait until your hair straightiner is so hot that you can barely toach it. Then straighten you hair slow and hard (?). Also, put moose in it and hair spray. (rave is the best) Amber sats "Good Luck!"

frizz-ease hair serum works wonders! Also the pantene restoratives collection tames my hair. And texturizing pomade can tame hair alot if used sparingly..

maybe you need a better straightening iron. Usa a Chi, they are well worth the money! use chi iron guard, and a anti frizz serum, garneir fructis has a great one. remember to straighten your hair in 1/4 inch sections at a time and take your time, also try not blow drying your hair let it dry naturally. use a good shampoo and conditioner like pantein pro-v sleek and shine (it's the kind with green words on the bottle). Good Luck

use an anti-frizz serum in your hair then blowdry. get a straightner that has ajustable heat settings. I turn mine on the highest 25..be careful though it get very hot! Also when you get your hair cut have it thinned it helps save time from blow-drying and helps your hair lay more flat. Hope this helps!!!

Oh layers... *sigh*. Layers are really fun and sexy, but damn if they aren't hard to keep from poofying. lol. Especially with shorter hair. :)

The only thing I can offer from my experience, is using a little gel or mouse to control your hair. If you are going to flat iron it or whatever, use some type of protectant that will keep in the moisture while you press which will keep the cuticles going in the same direction which will help with the poof.

You need to invest in a really great hair straightener. I swear by my straightener. It is the HAI Convertible Ceramic Flat Iron. Honestly it is the best thing I have ever used and I have tried many different things. Your hair will be as straight as you could ever want after you use this. I got all my friends hooked on it. If you want a cheaper option order one off Ebay. Trust me it works.

my friend has thick hair that sounds kinda like yours. all she has to do to make it nice and straight is flat iron it with the Farouk Chi Ceramic Iron. The is really the nicest ceramic iron out there. It's so easy to use, so effortless and doesn't damage your hair like some of the others. I will never use another flat iron again. that thing can work on anyone and they come in different colors!

Poofy Hair... HELP?
