I have the same hair and I feel your pain!! I use Matrix Iron Smoother. You can get it at Trade Secret for about $12.50. It's a bit more, but it works great and won't leave residue on your iron. I've used a couple things from Target and it fried my hair and left horrible stains on my iron. I swear this is the best!!! Check it out on Matrix.com.

MATRIX: The sleek look smoothing system! They have great shampoo %26amp; conditioner that gets rid of frizz. Then, when hair is still wet, apply the Matrix Extreme Styling Creme. Blow dry hair using round brush. Then, to answer the question, spray dry hair with MATRIX IRON SMOOTHER (around $12) before you flat iron hair. Then use the Matrix Sealing Serum to keep frizz out for the rest of the day (even in rain or humid weather). I have tried everything and these are the only products that work for me. You can buy them at beauty supply stores, hair salons, a few walmarts and grocery stores have them. All products around $12. You can buy a kit with a small sample of everything for around $12 too. Good luck.
