Dyeing my hair?

I have dark brown hair. I was thinking of dyeing a section of my bangs and the outer layers of my hair a lighter brown, not too dramatic. How do I go about just doing the outer layers, as opposed to all of my hair? Also, the last time I dyed my hair was a year and a half ago and I didn't style it in any special way, but recently I've started straightening my hair. Is there anything I should watch out for when straightening after I dye it?

Since dying your hair makes your hair dry, I'd go easy on straightening it. But if you use good shampoo and conditioner go for it. I reccomend Herbal Essences %26lt;3
