I am a black female with shoulder length hair cut in layers. In the black community, my hair is labeled as "good", meaning that it's naturally wavy but I have a perm to make it straight. My problem is that I workout 4 or 5 days a week and I sweat profusely in my head. I like low maintenance, soft hairstyles, so I often roller set my hair. I had been using medium to large rollers, and the results are very pretty on the first and second day, after that, I've got to resort to a ponytail or bring out my curling iron. I try to avoid excessive heat with my hair to promote health and growth. I know that I can't be the only black female with this problem. Cutting all of my hair off is not an option. I love my hair and it is one of my best physical attributes. Any other suggestions on styling and/or products for ethnic hair? No weave--I've already got thick hair. No braids--I work in the legal field and try to keep my hair as professional as possible.

i would do some side swept bangs that go across your forehead and a little above your eyes. and so even when you have to put your hair in a ponytail you still have some hair in your face to make it look cute. and you can flip it out at the end too. i think that would be really cute.

you could again use the curlers or switch it up a little bit. put in a half ponytail for work or you could (i think this would be great) flip you hair out. either use a straightener or use a blowdrier and a round brush to flip the sides out. you could do twisties in your hair everyonce in awhile %26amp;%26amp; if you do twisties then flip out the remaining hair. i really hope this helps!!
