i do not like styling products of any kind and I even put layers in my hair but it is just flat, was told perming youre hair will do the trick.

I have very fine hair and have found that Sunsilk Anti-Flat or Bumble and Bumble Thickening shampoos give my hair a lot of volume. You don't like styling products, but if you use a tiny bit of BedHead Cocky in your hair after using the above shampoo, then blow dry it, you'll be amazed at how much volume and thickness your hair will have. I used to get perms all the time, but got tired of the expense and time involved. These products make my hair look a lot thicker and give it a lot more body than perms did. I tried coloring my hair, but the color products these days contain lots of conditioners and don't give my hair any more body.

for some ppl it does. but for others, it breaks their hair off and may leave bald spots. it happened to a lot of my friends but they get indaviduals anyway

Color will also do the trick and possibly with less damage.

I have fine hair, and when I permed it, most of it broke off and I had all these little short pieces sticking up everywhere. It took years to grow it out and to look normal again. Try Dove shampoo. It adds quite a bit of thickness.

If you have it permed at a good salon... yes it does.. but as it grows out your roots are straight which can look good

A lousy perm will dry out and leave yr hair frizzy.

Bleaching yr hair gives volume swells the hair shaft, again at a salon...

Blunt cuts also give volume..

perming your hair will give it body if they don't overdue it and make it curly, what about a color that gives volume to the hair or streaking it.
