Pin Curls or Barrel Curls. You take small sections of your hair, roll it with your fingers and stick a bobby pin in there over night. No spritz needed. It's amazing, low cost and it comes out amazing... I did it last week. You get this really full bodied look.
Or you could always get a perm :/

I would say hot rollers or those large velcro rollers. You can get a nice set of hot rollers at longs or wallgreens for 20-30$. These work really well for thick hair as long as you apply a little hair spray afterwards. With thick hair, it is hard for the hair to hold the curl, so doing large flowy curls might turn out better than tight little ones. Hot rollers work nicely on layers too because a set comes with all different sizes, to accomodate each layer or section. Good luck, i LOVE mine, they are so fun when you want to go curly!

Is your hair naturally curly? I would say that a good blow dryer with the curl attachment is good. When you have towel dried hair, put about a quarters worth of Bio-silk silk therapy onto your palm, rub it around and then scrunch it into your hair. Be careful not to put too much in one place, it can make your hair look greasy if it's too think and not evenly disbursed. I also use Bed Head After Party along with it. Do the same thing with that. The two together smell sooo good. Then use the hair dryer attachment and as you're drying, scrunch like mad~
I hope my way helps and you get wicked good curls~
